Master Ellison has been training in Taekwondo since 1981.
He is a 5th Dan black belt, and is one of only 30 in the country. This
is a very high status to achieve, and not many do (which can be seen as
there are only 30 of them).
In 1987 he took the title of British Champion and in 1989 he took the
bronze position in the olympic team trials.
Always keen to stay up to
date with the development of Taekwondo he currently trains with the
technical director of WTF Taekwondo for the country, Master Ian Lennox,
on a regular basis.
He is keen to educate himself in other styles of martial arts and
integrate them back into Taekwondo. He also trains with 6th Dan Jujitsu
Master Steve Baker, and incorporates these techniques, where
appropriate, back into the self defence element of Taekwondo.
In 1999 he went to Lancaster University where he took a degree in
History and started up his first club. After completing his History
degree he trained in primary education and is now a qualified teacher.
He is currently a member of the BTCB national disciplinary committee and
runs the police clearance courses for national instructors in the North
West.
Most importantly
Master Ellison
thoroughly enjoys teaching Taekwondo and is keen for anyone with
any background to take up the art which we all love.
